Sport is an integral part of the DNA of a Selbornian. It forms part of our holistic approach to education and each boy is expected to participate in one code per season. Sport at Selborne is developmental in nature and as such a process-driven approach is used. The goal is to upskill our boys for their future participation in sport. Whilst we always play to win, Selborne does not have a win at all costs ethos.
Over the years, Selborne has tested itself against local opposition whilst seasonal derbies against Grey Junior, Queens and Dale remain a highlight. Recently, our u13 teams have travelled further afield to test themselves against some of the best primary schools in the country. Touring is a wonderful way to cap off your primary school sporting careers at Selborne.
At the school, numerous sporting codes are offered whilst many of our boys compete in various activities outside of school such as biathle, lifesaving, karate, motorcross and golf. Selborne celebrates all of these successes as well.
There are numerous top sportsman that have come from Selborne Primary and we look forward to many more coming.
